Kim Dingwall

Refined Rooms is owned and operated by Kim Dingwall, also known as The Stittsville Stager. Kim owns Get ReFurnished (, a local furniture rental and sales company. Kim is a life-long decorating hobbyist, creative artist and passionate organizer. She fondly recalls learning to sew, cook and about the history of furnishings during home economics class in high school (back in the day when they formally taught such things!) At an early age, Kim was working in an Ottawa home builder's office where her interest was piqued by studying home floor plans and the advertising and marketing of those homes. She is also very fortunate to have other influences on her decorating and creative interests. Kim has hands-on decorating, space planning and customer service experience from employment within the home furnishings industry. Kim has helped thousands of customers put rooms together.

Kim is Co-founder of the Canadian Associaton of Property Stylists ( and a CAPS Accredited Member dedicated to a Canadian industry code of ethics and continuing education. Kim is the former Vice President, Membership of the Ottawa Chapter of the Real Estate Staging Association.

Kim's philosophy is to reuse or repurpose existing materials and furnishings for projects. Another approach has been to do it yourself. With limited budgets for projects, it has always been very satisfying for Kim to research how to do it and then do it! Sharing these practical approaches with other home owners and sellers is a sure way to save money. She believes everyone deserves to be surrounded by beauty, comfort and cleanliness and that her clients' homes should reflect that ideal.

Considered a creative solutions-oriented person, Kim's passion for finding a way to have a beautiful home, very functional and a proper place for everything are fed through each project she works on.


With 30 years marketing and communications experience, Kim provides Refined Rooms' clientele with a strong ability to focus on the objective of each project. Her 'big picture' thinking is complemented with an incredible attention to detail. Project management skills, as well as extensive experience with supplier and customer relations, are pivotal to success in the home staging and decorating businesses.
